What’s sort of amusing me now though is that all over my flist I’m seeing people say things like ‘Ten, you’re still my Doctor,’ and what this episode really emphasized for me is that Ten Is Not My Doctor. That’s still Nine.
Ditto. It’s not that I hate Ten. It’s just…
Once upon a time, there was a show about a little blonde girl in a red hoodie who met an alien that travelled through time and space in a telephone box from the 1960s. It could be silly, that show-it had bad puns, and farting aliens, and homicidal pepperpots. But it made me laugh, and it made me cry, and it made me proud to be human-because look at what ordinary people can do if they’re brave and clever and determined.
Yes. I miss that show too. Where'd all the hope go, dammit? The biggest thing I got from End of Time is the theme of inevitable death, which is...depressing, to say the least, and not what I'd wanted from my show.
I just finished watching "End of Time" and I miss you so much! Thanks for getting me hooked on such a good show. Though I agree with you about the melodrama - way over the top. But I was glad there was nothing in it that would make you too upset. :) (And it made me super happy because I was still annoyed by the way "Torchwood" ended this summer, and this made it okay for me! Seriously, watch "The History Boys" and let me tell you why I love the actor who plays Alonso in "Doctor Who.")
Rather late, but had to jump in - yeah, I love Ten lots and lots but Nine is still my Doctor forever and ever (but I'm still going to give Eleven a chance to batter his way in).
Also, I think the Rose cameo was quite possibly the best return RTD could have done! I was worried as well, since I didn't want Rose from altverse to show up because what could she have done? What could he have done? It would have been a lot of... well, nothing. It'd be angst upon angst with a dollop of angst for dessert. And it would have totally cheapened it. But it tied up Rose's story neat and wonderful and after all my doubts about JE, I'm actually really glad now that it happened that way because TEN STILL LIVES ELSEWHERE WITH ROSE. Offscreen, where Moffat won't be touching him.

I will definitely watch The History Boys at some point! I've heard of it, just never got around to watching it.
