I was reading this last night on the couch, where my husband had fallen asleep, and I almost had an aneurysm from trying to stifle my laughter when I watched that clip (silently) of the girl getting hit by the pendulum. This is just brilliant. Such a weird premise, yet perfectly in character for April and Leslie. I love the idea that they would have this thing together, that's it's something that is theirs rather than something Leslie shares with Ann or Ben. (Also, I looked up the Amazon reviews of Modelland and that sounds absolutely nuts. I enjoyed seeing what other people who bought that book purchased.)

I just about lost it the first time I saw that pendulum moment. That show is so insane; I really think its unequaled in its ridiculousness.

This is so amazing! I love April and Leslie friendship times so much, and you write them so well! (Well, really you write everyone on this show so well, it's incredible). And add ANTM, aka the most fantastically ridiculous show in the world, and I'm sitting here giggling out loud picturing this.
Also, on a personal note, I was both delighted and a little ashamed to know every single scene you described even before seeing the clips. I may have hate-read some of Modelland with my friend myself, so I was really excited to see that at the end. So cute!

Thank you! ANTM really could win awards for its ridiculousness. The hardest thing about writing this was picking which insane ANTM moments I wanted to include.

Don't feel bad--It is SO SAD how little research I had to do for this fic. I think the most I did was look up how long after Lisa talked to Cousin It that she peed in the diaper. I knew everything else from memory, which is just proof that I need to stop watching ANTM marathons.
