I was sitting here, watching Shikabane Hime and IMing with azurial about Shoujo, when my thinking about Kodocha intersected with my thinking about Ouran.  The result?

Tamaki and Sana would make the world's cutest big brother/big sister combination!

. . . What?  Well, they truly would.  Both have overactive imaginations and are romantics at heart, and both ( Read more... )

And Tamaki seems to get along with children really well, too. Ahahah this match is made in heaven.

By the way, did you see the ANN Ouran review?

Yes, he does! You know, some day, he's going to make a good father. He'd be a perfect big brother to Sana, it'd be so cute. (I am imagining this as some sort of program, or just them meeting and being surrogate siblings, partially because that's what fits best for their backstories as I think they could both use each other very well to fit emotional holes, but explaining this would be spoilery for both.)

Oh! No, I don't think I did! *goes to find it*

Yeah, I think Myaow and I talked somewhat about how one day, Tamaki is going to be a really awesome Dad. ^^; And he will.

You. . .aren't going to like it. I was just kind of curious. ^^;

^^; Oh, it's fine. It's strictly a review for the first half of the anime, and on many counts, this person is correct. Ouran does start out episodic and as largely a parody rather than a deconstruction of standard shoujo cliches. I love the show in its entirety, but yeah, I can see where the reviewer is coming from. Man, are they going to be surprised. I really hope the same reviewer does the second set, because I really want to see how they react to it. The thing is, it isn't even that noticeably different right away, as it keeps its same style but slowly gets more involved with the characters emotionally. I have to say, her calling Kyouya "the nearsighted sadist" made me chuckle.
