I have some different options for output there, so I can feel fairly free to write about my experiences in the business of photography as well as general photography tips and news without spamming people who don't want to read

The only reason a camera should beep is to tell you the strobes have recycled and it's time to unleash the nuclear fury once more...

Do you ever use the SB800s IR illuminator, if so how do you find it? I'm considering getting one purely for this factor but I'm wary of spending $500 if it is rubbish...

Do you mean the SU-800? I just got one last night. It seems to work more than well enough for my needs indoors, I just need to test it in sunlight.

I meant the focus assist. I ws under the impression the SBx00s had an IR/Red illuminator like the canon flashes do?

Is this a complete myth? Is it just a ridiculous white light like the built in illuminator?

Oh. Yes, the flashes come with an IR illuminator that works very well, but that's just a small part of what makes the SB-800 worth the money.
