This is such an awesome story.
I like how this is centered around Iruka and his background without making him the lone hero and ridiciously overpowered or a helpless damsel in distress. You achieved the perfect balance here, I think, and I absolutely adore how you solved the whole conflict/fight. Intelligently, with strategy, and I totally didn't see it coming XD
Yoour original characters are also wonderfully fleshed out - by explaning his background you definitely let me feel sympathy for Masao, but on the other hand you never let the reader and the characters forget what kind of cruel monster he's become. Very good, realistic solution, in portraying Iruka and Kakashi as neither cruel nor forgiving.

As much as I'm looking forward to the last chapter, I can't help feeling that last paragraph is just so beautifully executed that you could stop right there XD

(hope you get that ugly stuff in RL sorted out! And feel free to come back whenever you need a break from it ... we're definitely waiting :D)

Thank yooou! *blushes* Comments such as yours makes all the (ridiculous) hours I put into this story all the more worthwhile, and I really appreciate your thoughts and input! I added that last paragraph totally last-minute, and I'm glad that it seemed to fit (I was worried!)

At some point I'm going to go back and revise/tighten the middle chapters (my writing skillz have improved since, I cringe when I read them lol) But first and foremost is the Winterfest!! *pumps fist in air*

(RL is much better now, and especially since I have an endless supply of internet to satisfy my fangirly needs! XD)
