...and the depression sets in.

Well, I knew this was going to happen, but I thought it would take a little longer than a week to develop. I'm in a totally depressed funk. I miss my friends in south Florida so much. Kathy just called me on her way to Shooters to make sure I was doing OK. And, I spoke for a little while to Tricia last night on the phone. But, it's just not ( Read more... )

Hugs are the best. I appreciate them... Internet-limited or otherwise. Thanks for the good thoughts. It usually doesn't take me long to get out of depressive funks. It usually just takes until I realize that depressive funks tend to inhibit my main goal in life, which is to help as many people (including myself) enjoy their lives on Earth as much as I can. (Hugs are a very useful tool in this endeavor.) :)

Aw man, I hope things start looking up soon. And I hope the "just friends" thing works out, and that he can manage to keep things in perspective.

And hey, why stop at just watching the cute southern boys? I'm sure at least a few of them would submit to you.

I'd give you a hug, but I'm still kinda sick.

Thanks for the thoughts, buddy. I'm sure they'll start looking up soon. And, as for the submission of cute southern boys... while it's a very hot fantasy, I have to be very careful about my status as a faculty member here at AU. I can't be messing around with the student body... or with students' bodies for that matter. However, I'm sure there are a few who aren't enrolled at the school. I'll just have to limit myself to them.

Woof. Yup... just moved to Auburn to start teaching at AU. But, perhaps a trip to rancid Birmingham is just what the doctor ordered (no pun intended, either way) to relieve my funk. ;)

Well, then... the invitation swings both ways, so to speak. Although there isn't much in Auburn to see (I'm sure even less than in Birmingham), I'd be happy to show you around. I'm sure I've seen just about all of Auburn in the week and a half that I've been here. Giving a tour shouldn't be that difficult, if you like sight-seeing that includes phrases like, "Here's one Wal-Mart... and here's the other." ;)
