I love this. The entire drabble is great, told in an interesting voice, but the first paragraph is my favorite. It's such a concise run-down.

The voice...I'm not sure where the voice came from. It just kinda happened.

There are only about 12 episodes of M*A*S*H that I've never seen, so I'm sure it's just a case of me being stupid. Which one inspired it?

There's one in S8 where Hawkeye gets his bar tab, and it's huge. He swears off alcohol for a week, and at first feels great, but he starts going through withdrawal. Not only does the ep show us Hawkeye is an alcoholic, it's got a great line about coming back for his drink when he wants it, not when he needs it.
