It isn't.Though she'd have to eat a lot to get fat as she's probably just replacing the energy expended in catching her mousy snack. Mice are usually eaten by hunters, birds less so due to the annoyance of plucking them first, which not all cats are good at. Best to praise her when she brings stuff - its her doing you a great honor. We usually praise and then pop the item back outside for the cat to follow it and dispose of it there. Cleo never leaves her mouse kill, always eats it even if straight after eating an indoor human staff-provided meal.
