Given my imminent relocation, NA4 and other cons round your way are starting to appear in my sights... Is April 2013 the sort of timescale for NA4 that I should keep in mind?

Depending on how keen you are, you might also be interested in Swancon (in Perth over Easter, in 2013 that's 2 weeks after NA4) or Continuum (June 2012, and the Aus Natcon for next year).
I like the way you said grow into her ears. LOL.I know what you mean - Cleo's are still pretty large in proportion.At adult size there's a foot and a half of her then a foot 2 inches of tail which she likes to hold out very straight as if to emphasise its incredible length. Or very straight and high up. Still skinny though she's put on muscle tone and strength.Still eats like a horse. Definitely mainly oriental, I'd say. The pointy face and almond shaped eyes - I love her half closed happy eyed looks in my direction when she first wakes up - are also indications that oriental genes will out. Seven and her look great together - the " accidental oriental" and The British Shortarse :-))) Seven is round with a very short tail and cobby body and huge yellow round eyes and a broad face. SO different and yet so alike, being cats.
we have some friends who are house painters. They do a good job and are very experienced. They will be painting our (wooden) house some time soon and they did work for Paul & Trudi. They are based in Box Hill. Not sure if they are looking for jobs at the moment but I could pass on their details if you are interested. They don't advertise as they are constantly in demand via word-of-mouth.
