Homosexual Demographics and Rick Warren

So, I was wandering the web, and I came across this site, and one of the comments was regarding Rick Warren's estimate of the Gay population at 2%. The comment pointed to an opinion poll, where people believed that the true percentage was closer to 20-25%. The commenter seemed to believe that opinions create truth - that if the public believes that

One thing one of my gay friends will tell you, is that a lot of straight men have gay sex, yet still consider themselves to be "straight", not gay or even bi-sexual. He knows this from personal experience, as he often has gay sex with straight men. So, where do those guys (and probably gals) put themselves in any of those census numbers?
