New Years Day

Jan 01, 2011 22:02

So, it's the start of the new year - 2011 for all you dumbasses out there who are still drunk from last night's festivities (and yes, I know some of them) - and therefore the start of a whole set of fresh resolutions for pretty much anyone silly enough to think that a change in date should equal a new them. Yes, it's an incentive but it's not ( Read more... )

We've already talked about English festival scene but..
It has two things that I love more than anything else: a. music b. it's in England :D
What I wanted to ask is who do you think will be perform this year? I'm guessing it happens not so often that bands headline festivals two years running. And 2010 lineup was amazing.
This year is year of U2, Foo Fighters and so on. They'll release new albums and I think will headline the festivals. Wich is very disappointing for me 'cause it's not kind of music I like..

I'm not so fond of the U2, Foo Fighters etc. scene either, but the organisers try to get as many acts from the previous year as possible... They're looking at The Strokes to possibly headline this year? I'm not a massive fan of them but they're alright.

Red Hot Chili Peppers may also be making an appearance? And Muse is another rumour I've heard about... In all honesty 2010's line-up looked a lot better than what they've got planned so far: Foals, Frank Turner, Biffy Clyro, Queens of the Stone Age, Crystal Castles, Arcade Fire... They all played last year so I don't think they will this time around :/

Yes, The Strokes is probably the only one band that I'd love to see. They are releasing album in March, as nme says, so I'm pretty sure they will headline this year's festivals. And they've already confirmed some.

Don't know about Muse. Don't like them really. But it's always madness when they are headliners. Their fans are just crazy :D If it's true and Muse make an appearance tickets will be sold out in an hour :D

Yeah, that's true, 2010's line-up was absolutely amazing!
Arcade Fire will play, however. Don't know 'bout England but they'll headline Benicassim in Spain and Hurricane in Germany.

Muse are one of those bands that knows how to work a crowd - there are some bands that can and some bands that can't. The best I've ever seen anyone work a crowd was Mumford & Sons, haven't seen them live yet but one of my friends has seen them three times already and never gets bored!

Arcade are bound to play somewhere, just not the Reading/Leeds scene in England, and they'll never get a massive spot at Glastonbury or the mainstream festivals.

I'd love to go to Benicassim, but it'd be so much more expensive for me to just get there :')
