Moon food dog

Happy Oak Moon! It was gorgeous this evening, rising. We are too far east to be able to view the eclipse, but I wish clear skies to those of you who can.

I feel like all I post lately is recipes and stories about my dog. I will apologize now, because this post is not going to be an exception.

*gives him a pat from you* He's acting normally -- just as apt to get restless, start chewing things he's not supposed to, etc. I'm glad of that, except with not being able to exercise him vigorously, I think he's more restless! Poor guy.

Oh, Memphis, I <3 you so hard.

I hope he feels better soon. And I know just what you mean about feeling sad when he's sick.

Thank you! The little manipulator has learned to work it. Being restless from restricted exercise, he'll do something naughty, then when I tell him no, he looks at me and coughs pitifully. Heh.

*cuddles Memphis*

Hope he's back to himself soon (though he looks just as adorable as ever).

The nuts look lovely btw!

Thank you! Fortunately, he doesn't seem to feel sick, except for the annoying (to him) coughing. Otherwise I'm sure he'd love to go running!

Oh, the nuts are delicious. Only problem is, pecans are pretty expensive, so it's not something I'd make all the time. :)

Memphis, get well right away! In fact, I hope he's already much better.

And I am making those nuts - I have pecans handy and everything :)

Thank you! (says Memphis, as do I!) He is coughing much less, seems more comfortable, and we just have the appetite and frequent urination to deal with from the steroids. :) I'm hoping in the next couple of days we can start running again, but I'm hesitant to switch back to a collar. I may start looking for a flat padded collar that wouldn't press on him as much if he pulls. He's been wearing a rolled leather collar since I got him, and since he's not generally much of a puller I didn't think it was a problem. But since the race when he was basically a sled dog... at the very least I won't run any more races without a harness, I think. :) And now I wonder if we should look into scootering or bikejoring!

Mmm, the nuts. I hope you enjoy them!
