Thank you! I was expecting that they could come out... even weirder than they did, and I'm sure I'll keep thinking of ways I could have done better, but I'm fairly satisfied.

See, mistakes in knitting/crochet are what make them unique and homemade. If you wanted perfect, you'd just buy it from a store!

I actually really like the sporty look of Ladybug's scarf, because she will be able to wear it for ages and wear it with lots of different outfits. Good job!

That is so true! And this may be a little strange, but one of the things I love about hand-knitted and crocheted things is that occasionally you'll find a hair woven into them. Maybe the hair of the person who made them, maybe a dog or cat hair. But it's that little DNA signature that gives it the personal touch. :)

Ladybug's scarf doesn't look like something you'd normally make for a 5-year-old girl, and it won't match any of her pink clothes, but as Luna said diplomatically, "She can wear it with her fall clothes!" And I think you're right, even though I sized it for a little girl, maybe she can wear it for a long time. :)

Yes, that - it's why I grinned like a loon when kel_reiley posted a picture that included the blankie she made me while it was still under construction and her cat was sitting right by the edge of it.

The only things I am slightly paranoid about keeping pet hairs away from are baby clothes because I never know what other people's kids might be allergic to or how clean!freak the parents/grandma might be.

The scarves are great. I especially like Ladybug's.

I've been thinking of knitting a scarf for Clementine. I'll have to dig through my stash and see what I can find.

Ooh, teddy bear scarves are great for trying out a new yarn, using up remnants of old yarn, or practicing a new stitch! For a little scarf, I think moss stitch or 1x1 rib work well because they will lay flat. What doesn't work well is changing yarn often to make stripes, because working in the ends of such a small piece is a pain. But I discovered that if you want different colors in a little scarf, crochet is the way to go. :)

I'm sure Clementine would love it.
