I've run across a few facepalmy things today that make me wonder how humans can claim to be intelligent or civilized, which kind of makes me wish I were running wild with the critters. Animals are much less delusional.

Have a duck in a patch of sunlight. :)

*pets you and your duck* She does look peaceful.

Here's a cute little guy I met in Puerto Rico. I won't say he had a policy of absolute non-violence, because I saw him eat a bug, but he still seemed nice.

Oh, he's very cute! And I'm sure he does a very sensible job of insect control. Not to mention his gorgeous color. (I'm sure his ears would be burning right now if he had any.)

His little tympanic membranes are feeling warm!

BTW isn't his camouflage pretty? He was the same color as everything!

(I was looking through my old photos for an image for you today and I realized, I really do take a lot of photos of animals, insects, and plants! Oh, and fungus. I have about 10 photos of gumboot chitons from Northern California because the first time I saw one I couldn't imagine what it was, and it wasn't in my Audubon guide, so I thought I'd better get photos in case it was an alien or something. IDK!)

Just because it has an earth name doesn't mean it's not TOTALLY AN ALIEN. (Very cool!)

It's times like this that one has to remember the wonders of chocolate and tea parties with small children.

That is so true, thank you for the reminder. Little bits of sanity keep us going. :)

children=sanity? I must have been doing it wrong all these years.... :)

Heh, maybe sanity wasn't the right choice of words. But at least when young children do something stupid or ignorant, they have an excuse!
