I apologise profusely for not commenting last month! I haven't been looking at LJ often any more, which is sad.
I was reminded of this post by having someone come in to consult a non-fiction book by Arthur Conan Doyle, titled The Great Boer War, published in 1902.
Congratulations on your story being included in this book. You should be very proud.

No worries, karen9! There isn't nearly as much posted on LJ as there once was. In fact, I don't think I've checked LJ for at least a few days. I really need to pay catch up on the weekend.

Oh, interesting! If I'm not mistaken, Arthur Conan Doyle received his knighthood for writing that book - or for work related to The Boer War, anyway. I'll have to check whether The Arthur Conan Doyle Collection (http://www.acdfriends.org/collect.html) has a copy of that book. I suspect that it does. I was actually in The Arthur Conan Doyle Room last Saturday because I went to a couple of talks related to Sherlock Holmes/Conan Doyle at the Toronto Reference Library. Anyway, I got to see a first edition of Beeton's Christmas Annual from 1887 (which contains the first Sherlock Holmes story) up close

I didn't know that there is an Arthur Conan Doyle Room in Toronto! You are lucky to be able to see all the treasures in the collection.
I certainly am lucky! It's wonderful to have both this and the Sherlock Holmes Walk in Toronto! :-D
BTW, a number of items from the ACD Collection can be viewed via the Digital Archive
