I'm glad you think the DVD review makes Stalky & Co. sound like it's worth buying. I'm looking forward to being able to watch the episodes properly (e.g. with much better picture and sound). Unfortunately, if it does arrive on Tuesday, it won't be arriving here. I have all of my packages sent to my parents' place because packages sent to my building have a nasty habit of getting lost. I'll be able to get my hot little hands on it on Saturday. Anywaaaaaaaaaay, I might post some thoughts and comments on the DVD once I've had a chance to watch all the episodes. :-)
Yes, that warm review was reassuring. I mean, I've seen the episodes (with bad picture and sound), so I know what to expect in terms of content, but it was good to know that there were no complaints about the quality of the DVD itself. Of course, I'm happy that McLean gave the series a good review, especially as I shared the link with some other Robert Addie fans who have yet to see the episodes.
I'm not surprised that there aren't any special features. It's not unusual with older series, especially more obscure ones that were thought to be lost for decades, etc. Of course, I'd be lying if I said that I wasn't a bit disappointed. I think McLean made a good point about interviewing surviving cast members, but maybe Simply Media just didn't have the time or budget.
