I'm not 100% sure, but it looks like Stalky & Co. may actually be released on UK DVD...EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!! A member of a Robert Addie Facebook group shared the news that Simply Media will be releasing Stalky & Co. in March 2016. I hope the DVD quality is good. I have no idea what they're working from considering that the BBC burned the original tapes. Maybe Simply Media got a hold of a copy of the series that was exported to another country. In any case, I don't think it's going to be sharp HD, but it should be an improvement over the files I have at the moment, which are quite grainy and don't have the best sound quality. And more fanish art and new converts would be wonderful! I hadn't even thought of that! A definite Yayyyyyyyyyyyy, indeed! :-D

I know! :-D I still can't believe it. I mean, I'd always hoped it would happen somehow, but it seemed like such a long shot under the circumstances.

Oh, good! I'm glad to hear that. I have to confess that I've watched it twice since I re-posted it. *g* The vidder just chose the perfect song for not only that vid but Stalky & Co. in general.

I've just bought the DVD of 'A Traveller In Time' which was a BBC series from 1978, also published by Simply Media, so I think it is likely that Stalky & Co will be getting the same treatment. No extras or anything though, just the show. :-)

Hey, alysscarlet! Thanks for the info! :-) I had a feeling that Stalky & Co wouldn't have any extras, though I hope the DVD picture and sound quality will be fairly clear. At this point, I'd be happy with an improved version of what currently exists on the Internet. *g*

I'm guessing that Simply Media is trying to publish older and/or more obscure titles, which is fabulous. I had honestly given up hope of ever seeing Stalky on DVD, so I'm still having to pinch myself!
