Fanmix - Sunglasses at Night (Kellerman)

Feb 05, 2007 18:42

A Kellerman fanmix? Seriously? Well, this is me at one in the morning when my friend sort of not really asked me to make a mix for Kellerman, and I ended up compiling this pretty excellent bunch of songs. It's just fun. Straight up '70s and '80s, and a bit of now. Also, I think this was really just an excuse to make a good mix. But who says a Secret Service agent can't have the Scissor Sisters on his mix, HMM?

What I love is that this whole Kellerman situation is so sketchy. And he was such an asshole in the first season, like be honest, you probably didn't like him much. I mean, you know, he killed people and everything. But now! Now he's all rude and snarky and smart and awesome and you don't KNOW what side he's on.

So now he has a mix. And Kellerman so wears his sunglasses at night. It is NOT EVEN a question.

01. Sunglasses at Night, Corey Hart
Don't switch the blade
On the guy in shades, oh no
Don't masquerade
With the guy in shades, oh no
I can't believe it
'Cause you got it made
With the guy in shades, oh no

And I wear my sunglasses at night
So I can, so I can
Forget my name while you collect your claim
And I wear my sunglasses at night
So I can, so I can
See the light that's right before my eyes.

02. Instant Karma, John Lennon
Instant Karma's gonna get you,
Gonna knock you right on the head,
You better get yourself together,
Pretty soon you're gonna be dead.

03. Back Door Man, Howlin' Wolf
They take me to the doctor, shot full of holes.
Nurse cried, please save the soul.
Killed him for murder, first degree.
Judge's wife cried, Let the man go free.

I am a back door man.
I am a back door man.

04. The Two Sides of Monsieur Valentine, Spoon
I turn the news on a while
I practice my scene
You think things are straight but they're not what they seem
'Til you know the two sides of Monsieur Valentine
In his coat and his boots and his blackheart machine
No, no one knows the two sides of Monsieur Valentine.

05. Who Are You, The Who
Well, who are you?
Who are you? Who, who, who, who?
I really wanna know
Who are you? Who, who, who, who?

06. Sympathy for the Devil, The Rolling Stones
Pleased to meet you,
Hope you guess my name.
But whats puzzling you
Is the nature of my game.

07. Pressure Point, The Zutons
I can't get this pressure point out of my head
I can't get this pressure point out of my head
I feel it in work, you know, I feel it in bed
I can't get this pressure point out of my head.

08. Temptation, New Order
Each way I turn, I know I'll always try
To break this circle that's been placed around me
From time to time, I find I've lost some need
That was urgent to myself, I do believe

09. This Charming Man, The Smiths
When in this charming car
This charming man
Why pamper life's complexities
When the leather runs smooth
On the passenger seat?

10. Comfortably Numb, Scissor Sisters
Hello, hello
Is there anybody in there?
Just nod if you can hear me
Is there anybody home?

Come on now
I hear you're feeling down
Well I can ease your pain
And get you on your feet again
Relax
I need some information first

11. Policy of Truth, Depeche Mode
You'll see your problems multiplied
If you continually decide
To faithfully pursue
The policy of truth

Never again
Is what you swore
The time before
Never again
Is what you swore
The time before

12. Au Reve, Cassius
(groovetastic, no lyrics)

13. E-Pro, Beck
See me comin to town with my soul
Straight down out of the world with my fingers,
Holding onto the devil I know
All my troubles'll hang on your trigger,
Take your eyes and your mind from the road
Shoot your mouth off but look where you're aiming
Don't forget to pick up what you sow,
Talking trash to the garbage around you.

14. Clint Eastwood, Gorillaz
Remember where the thought is
I brought all this
So you can survive when law is lawless
Feelings, sensations that you thought were dead
No squealing, remember
(That it's all in your head)

I ain't happy, I'm feeling glad
I got sunshine, in a bag
I'm useless, but not for long
The future is coming on.
