I don't think it's actually that long of a shot- that he signs again. Honestly? It's probably all pressure from his manager or something... I hope... =( He has to come back next season.

Well, now that GMGM said (to paraphrase) that they won't replace him and since they've already assigned his number to someone else, I think the nail is in the coffin and I am in mourning!!
