Simon is delighted to see his brother, and he jumps up from the bench he's currently occupying in a sunny spot, embracing Jaf in a ferocious hug. "Jaf! It's good to see you, bro."

"Look't that. Hey, Simon. Good to squeeze you." The hug is tight and protective, and wings get involved and it is good.

So, so very good, and Simon winces hardly at all. He's almost healed, by this point. Gabe's salve has done him a world of good, and the Grace woven into the very bones of Iona? That helps too. He nods against Jaf. "This is a good place. We can rest here, and get ready for when Hell hits us with everything they have."

"Right. I need to report to Michael and see if there's further orders for me. But...you're right. The land here, it's right the way LA just ain't." He lets out a soft chuckle. "Raz here too?"

"Yeah, Raz and Steven. Janni. Haven't seen Ben yet, or Guri. We left Pal with Janni's mom." Simon grins. "Apparently I get to work for Gabe, since he's in charge of messengers. How cool is that?"

"Oh, lucky duck--Gabe's pretty awesome to me, always has been." He separates himself from the hug to look Simon over. "Meanwhile, I've got someone waiting for me when I get home. Something to look forward to when this is over."

Simon's asexual life partner best friend is right here on the island, but he's glad for Jaf. "Oh, really, who? Did you bring them?"

"He didn't want to come; I don't know if you've heard of him, Captain Jack Harkness?" He can't help but grin.

"I've heard the name, maybe, but I haven't met him." Simon frowns a little. "I hope he'll be okay. Lu's pretty pissed and won't be shy about going after the people we care about."

"Jack's immortal. And I made a promise not to nanny him; apparently Raziel blessed his gun, too." There's faint amusement at that last.

"Well, then. I know how well the blessed ammo works, bro. Did I ever tell you that Ben smited me once with his bare hands? Father Leo blessed his claws. Bam, right through my ribcage and my throat. It sucked." A crooked grin. "Of course, I deserved it."

"I wonder if we've got the capacity to bless things now. I mean, there's no reason why we shouldn't, in theory, but I'm still really kinda very hesitant about trying."

"Yeah, I'm not... That's not my thing. At least not yet." He shakes his head. "I don't want to be more presumptuous than I already am, y'know? And, I mean, our own weapons are blessed, or, at least, I hurt Shai with my crossbow pretty good. So there's that."

"I'll need to see how I can do with my machete." It makes him feel like Rambo. But he'll deny that every time.

"If you need it blessed, I'm sure one of the monks will do it for you. Have you--" Simon's mouth twists. "Have you gone into battle with a Fallen with it yet?"

"Not yet, no." He sighs. "Haven't seen much battle at all, since calling home."
