Grrr...

Some people know just enough to be really fucking annoying. And some people are annoying without knowing anything, of course... but when I've taught you everything you know about a subject, it would be really nice if you listen to what I say instead of yammering in my ear at a mile a minute about how we just gotta do this we just need to do that ( Read more... )

That is annoying behavior from kids. From adults it is homicide inducing.

Not only an adult, but one old enough to be my mother. And while she is usually pretty sweet (at least to me - my coworkers not so much) when she gets going there are times I have to shut her down. For some reason she seems to listen to me better than them.

Then again, I seem to have that effect on a lot of people. Never quite figured it out.

Ugh, that just makes it worse.

It's all about controlling the situation and giving off the aura that you are in charge.

Yeah. When I say that I taught her everything she knows, I mean I literally taught her everything she knows about Publisher, searching online for images, everything beyond the most basic checking of email. Half of the staff groans when they see her coming because she is obsessed with making greeting cards to the point that she'll make a half-dozen or more a day - which she eventually has gotten to looking pretty decent (if busy) but she's found every possible way to screw up on the way there and repeats her mistakes fairly often. But of course, she didn't do anything wrong, she did exactly what she's done every day for the past however-many months, and it's the program that's changed or messed up. And then she gets snippy when you try to tell her that no, she did not do it that way before, because if she had, it would have screwed things up just like it's doing now. But nothing is ever her fault. Ugh.

Command presence - apparently I haz it. LOL
