out-of-inn hijinks

Mr. Stark is going through personnel files, in an effort to fill a certain high-level vacancy (and complete whatever performance reviews are due at the moment). Jarvis is attempting to help him make sure the files stay in some semblance of order, according to their usefulness to the tasks at hand - but that hardly takes up all of his processing power. As he lines up files for the 'needing review' queue, one in particular catches his attention; ordinarily, he wouldn't look, but his curiosity gets the better of him.

...Oh. Oh, that won't do at all.

When Mr. Stark finishes the file he's working on, Jarvis presents him with the one that caught his notice. "Sir, I think there is something here that requires your attention."

"What, Pepper? I like her, but she's not qualified for this position. And I'm not firing her, if that's what you're thinking--"

"Not in the least, sir. However, it seems her pay scale is in dire need of adjustment."

There's a pause as Mr. Stark scrolls to the relevant information. "...Shit. You're right. Who the hell set this thing that low?"

Jarvis would shrug, were he currently capable of it. "I couldn't say, sir."

"No, I guess you couldn't. Probably before your time. Anyway - there, that ought to shock the hell out of her, next pay period. Thanks for pointing that out. Next file?"

"Miss Potts was initially in the queue for a performance review, sir."

Mr. Stark snorts. "She knows I like her, and that raise should go a long way toward saying so. Why bother writing it down?"
