New challenge for picspammy!  My year end list of things I loved in 2009 :)

Books
I read a ton of books this year (almost all of Sarah Dessen's stuff, hehe) but these are the few which I really, really loved.  The Time Traveler's Wife and My Sister's Keeper in particular were really emotional, especially in the former after Henry got in the accident.  Yeah, it took me a while to recover from that.  I bought Her Fearful Symmetry so I'm going to be reading that next year.  The Three Musketeers was a joy to read.  I've loved them based on the cartoons but I finally read it this year (together with other classics: Picture of Dorian Gray, The Secret garden & A Little Princess) and it was super cool mid century butt kicking action!  This year  saw the end of two of my favorite books: The Princess Diaries and The Jessica Darling Series (three if you include me reading the entire Gemma Doyle trilogy this year)

I also reread Harry Potter a few days ago.  Best book. EVER.

Along for the Ride by Sarah Dessen / Forever Princess by Meg Cabot
My Sister's Keeper by Jodi Picoult / Perfect Fifths by Megan McCaferty

A Great and Terrible Beauty trilogy by Libba Bray / Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows by J.K. Rowling (reread)
The Three Musketeers by Alexandre Dumas / The Time Traveler's Wife by Audrey Niffenegger

Movies
These are the movies which I really loved this year (four of which I saw in an actual  theater). All of them are awesome especially Harry Potter! I completely adore the movie.

(500) Days of Summer / Confessions of a Shopaholic / Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince
hard candy / He's Just Not That Into You / My Sister's Keeper

Nick & Norah's Infinite Playlist / Push / Star Trek
The Proposal / Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen / Up

Music
This year, I listened to a lot more new stuff.  Some albums are old and date back to 2004 even (Futures) but I discovered only this year.  I was incredibly stoked for Paramore's new release as well as Third Eye Blind's, both of which did not disappoint.  The Glee albums are also addictive and the Spring Awakening one just fits perfectly with my musical taste. Also, I finally appreciated the genius known as Radiohead.  Took me long enough.

People
All the beautiful people ;)

Blake Lively
Who doesn't love her? She's stunning. She's possesses the type of beauty that just grows on you.

Camilla Belle
She's beautiful. I always love her clothes and hair.

Glee Cast
Best. cast. ever. They rock so hard. I love how close they are and all their tweets (especially Cory's). Bonus: they are mega talented and gasp! can sing.  TV need more people like them.

Jason Mraz
MRAZ!!!!! No doubt one of the best musicians. I love how the songs on his new album just radiate a certain coolness.  Check out his blog as well.  So funky fresh.

Michael Cera & Kat Dennings
Michael and Kat! They are an awesome duo. Granted, Book!Nick&Norah were a lot different than Movie!Nick&Norah, they did turn up the chemistry to like, the 101th level. I love their duo because their different and not the typical hollywood mold. More people like them in movies!

Panic! at the Disco: Brendon Urie & Sepncer Smith
First of all, yay!  The ! is back :p I missed it deeply.  I hope that the return on the exclamation point means we get more awesome tunes from this duo.  I was really sad when the core four split up earlier this year (and even more peeved because I didn't see them in concert last year when they were here) but I'm hoping these guys bring more lovin' to the table.  Panic! will always be one of my firsts loves.

Skins cast
Gen 2.0 is awesome in a totally different awesome way that gen 1.0 was.  They're so different but all amazing at what they do.  This cast is just so real and unbelievable.

Spring Awakening Original Broadway Cast
I admit, I wasn't able to see the show on broadway but I've seen a few bootlegs (youtube is a gold mine for these) and this cast is incredibly energetic and fun. I love how they're oldest member was only 24. Such a young, talented and amazing bunch of actors.

Bonus, I love this song and Skylar Astin is amazing in it. He plays Georg, the guy in glasses. Gives me chills everytime.

Zooey Deschanel & Joseph Gordon-Levitt
Uh, (500) Days of Summer, anyone? Love them. They're so great together. Both so quirky and cute!

Ships
Honorable mentions: Marcus Flutie & Jessica Darling (Sloppy Firsts series) / Ron Weasley & Hermione Granger (Harry Potter)

"I love you too"
Chuck Bass & Blair Waldorf, Gossip Girl
I didn't think it was possible to love them even more after they got together because let's face it, that would be boring.  The chase after all was their trademark for two seasons.  But it is!  I love how the writers turned their relationship into leaning onto each other for strength and being their for the other.

"Look, there are a lot of good things about you that would attract a lot of great guys"
"Really ike what?"
"Well..well, you're Lois!"
Clark Kent & Lois Lane, Smallville
Clark and Lois *sigh* They finally got it together after (count it) four seasons.  I love how Clark really did a complete reversal from last season. It's like, Lana who?  I love how they're great friends and all the witty exchanges but most of all, I really, really loved seeing their relationship grow throughout the course of Smallville.

"You know you can kiss me if you want to."
"I want to"
Finn Hudson & Rachel Berry, Glee
There's something about liking the good girl and the good boy together.  When I saw them in 1.02 I was sold on them.  There's the magic when they sing (even though Finn's voice isn't the strongest, I really like it) and I think they'd build an awesome friendship if not a great relationship.

"Um, I'm Freddie.  I met a girl I liked today.  She's, like, beautiful.  That's it."
Freddie Mclair & Effy Stonem, Skins
I must admit, I've loved them since the first episode where Freddie stared at Effy when she was in her dad's car.  And even during Freddie's introduction.  He was so simple and sincere and i think he kind of broke Effy's hard exterior a bit. I'm curious to see how their relationship develops in series four.  Will it be Sid and Cassie like or will they crumble?

"You saved my life, Chloe.  Both the man and the myth."
Oliver Queen & Chloe Sullivan, Smallville
Rewind back to Roulette, to this scene.  Hello?!  They are totally wesome *flail*  It's so awesome how Chloe gets to play a bigger part other than Clark's sidekick in the previous seasons.  Watchtower was the perfect set up for Chloe and Oliver.  If the Smallville writers do get these two together, it would be an epic explosion

TV
A lot o flail worthy moments in 2009. I watched two new shows, Glee & True Blood. I missed a lot of Heroes season 4 though which I plant to get back to soon. I like watching fewer TV shows so my schedule remains less confusing, hehe.

American Idol
KRIS ALLEN, PEOPLE. Thank you, America. This is really my crack. I love being evil and just bashing the contestants whose smarmy faces I do not like (I'm looking at you ghoulish widower) and just rooting for the ones I love (this season's picks: Kris, Anoop & Allison, my cool kids.)

Chuck
Chuck is just awesome and oh yeah, the show returns Jan. 10!!!!

Glee
Who doesn't love Glee?  It just radiates joy after every episode.  The music is always awesome and this show probably has one of the most diverse cast not to mention, normal sized people for a change.  I love everything about it.  The dialogue, Jane Lynch, the glee kids, and the awesome musical numbers we get every week.  I can't remember wanting to go home early to catch a tv show in so long.  Plus, the back nine promises more numbers, Idina and Jonathan Groff (!!!).  Is it April yet?

Gossip Girl
Admittedly, the show has become kind of boring since the series began but leave it to the producers to come up with their best mid season cliff hanger ever.  Chuck's mother is not dead?  jenny peddling drugs?  Damn, bring on the popcorn.

Skins
I love Skins simply because it's a show about teenagers where the actors are actual teenagers. You can definitely see elements of the first two seasons but the personalities of the new generation are quite distinct from the first that I just can't compare them and go, oh, this part was like in that scene where..nope, not at all.

Smallville
Season 9 = EPIC. EPIC. EPIC.  Best season ever (but I say that every season, hehe so I guess this doesn't matter).  Smallville returns Jan. 22.

YEAH.

True Blood
I started watching True Blood because I was curious about it. I mean, how different can vampire themed things ever be different right? But boy, this show makes Twilight look like a children's book. It's campy, fun yet there's still enough mysteries to keep me watching. Plus, Jason Stackhouse just cracks me up.

2010

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows / The Lovely Bones / Paramore Live / Skins series 4
