Writing is something that I constantly practice and yet lately I have gotten overly complacent about my mastery of the craft.

The problem is, I believe, that I've gotten too lazy towards using "conversational English" and grammar in my writing rather than trying my best to be careful of my grammar.

You should have mentioned my complete ineptitude in the whole copy editing area though, just so people don't start thinkin' I have mad skillz or whatnot. Content editing yes copy editing - not so much.

One of the things this post shows improvement on, at least over your first LJ posts, is internet scan ability of your work. Large text blocks are tougher to read on the screen, and IIRC some of your early posts had huge paragraphs that might have worked very well in print, but don't work so well on screen. (Even though they might have been technically well executed.

Writing for the screen is a different skill than writing for print, or at least takes conscious thought to get right. What you have here works well for the column width and text density. It is easy to read without getting lost or bored. Good job!
