Note: totally ignoring Dawn of the New World here, just so you know. (Sorry, Tenebrae. I still love you.) Also, I don't know man, I think maybe Genis is beyond my understanding.

This took me three days. :|

( Genis couldn't help but think the new world tree was small, even tiny - too tiny to sustain the whole world. )

Loved it! It was such an unique and awesome way to do the prompt. There is not nearly enough Genis fic out there, and I loved his interactions with Sheena in the beginning. I also really enjoyed the way you wrote Martel. She was so magnificent and divine.

(I totally don't feel bad for making you go over your limit, by the way ;))

Thank you! I'm glad it's likable in spite of it's uh, flaws. I'll be tweaking it for the next week, probably.

I liked this a lot too. Despite you saying that you're not sure you entirely get Genis, I thought this take on him was pretty insightful in a lot of different ways. :3 I love all of the little details of his interactions with the various characters, but of course the best part is his meeting with Martel. I really appreciated how it, by extension, explored his relationship with Mithos, which (as you may remember me saying before :-P) was one of my favorite aspects of the game.

Just one small thing I noticed - I think you may have missed a word in this sentence: The streamed up and away when Genis approached again and knelt to rest his palm against the slender trunk.

Hahahah, god, I'm looking it over now and thinking, "that scene with Lloyd is so out of place, dammit, the pacing is all messed up, HOW DO I FIX THIS?" I should probably wait a few days before pulling the axe out of the closet, buuuut. :|

Thank you! (I should've said that first, but no, I like to complain.) And thanks for pointing that out - I dropped a letter accidentally, and that's not a mistake a casual spell check will catch. Whoops.

Canon is so horribly limiting with the Genis-Mithos relationship. The only way I can do anything is with an AU, practically, as you can't really address the betrayals otherwise.
