I love reading the alternative ways Jason could have grown up, because here and in other places, he almost always ends up better off than if he was under Bruce [and what does that say about Mr. Wayne?]. I think may favorite was the third, just because Helena doesn't take shit from anyone, AND she would still be supportive and nurturing towards him; that's also why I liked the Barbara ones.

All of them were great. :) I love how the fandom takes care of a certain Jason Peter Todd better than DC does...

Hah, it mostly just says that Jim Starlin was an asshole, DC has a rule about Jason Todd meeting a tragic end whatever the world (seriously. Even in the World Without Young Justice AU.), and I wanted to keep crowbars as far away from this fic as possible.

I think Jason interacting with Helena would be awesome, mostly for the contrast re:education between them. Agreed, she'd probably be an excellent mentor to him in the right circumstances. I'm pretty sure the Oracle one ends badly. She is using him in that one, even if they have companionable discussions.

I love how the fandom takes care of a certain Jason Peter Todd better than DC does...

They got the tragedy angle covered; obviously we have to branch out. ;)

These are absolutely fascinating. I love reading "What If..." scenarios revolving around Jason, and stories where he's someone else sidekick? They're so rare to find, and s delight to read.
I can't choose a favourite, because each has got something special about it, but I really, really liked how you portrayed Babs. :)

I'm so in love with Babs, it's passed funny a number of fics ago. Thus why she always features in fics she's not supposed to star in, dammit.

Thanks! I wasn't consciously doing that, but I was writing under the opinion that none of these was Jason's rightful place in the universe. That probably seeped into the fic.
