This is really nice. I think you're on to something , too; it explains a lot of Edward's attitude.

Ed strives on guilt, particularly toward Al; I'm glad you liked it (and think my pet theory works, too). It's a nice angsty reason to make him an attention whore. *grins*

Very nice. You pinned Ed's feelings and thoughts very well. I liked the angle you took... I don't think I've ever seen someone look at it from that perspective. It was quite interesting. ^^

I think I've grown a bit bored with the idea that Al is Ed's conscience, particularly since canonically Al's the one less embarrassed by hard moral choices, and Ed seems to take his Older Brother status very seriously indeed, what with the angstiness and bossiness and all. The lucidity about what everyone else thinks is just a bonus, thanks his cynical little heart. /essay
