And then I ruined the evening of an anti-gay marriage militant by refusing to take her flier and engaging her in a 30-minutes long argument. No minds were changed, but increasingly desperate glances were thrown at the other passer-bys as they walked by without her being to hand them her fliers. Well, they're the non-physically-menacing kind. They're getting organized at the moment because the law making marriage inclusive might pass, so they're really trying to sell their stuff as being non-homophobic and accepting, so...

It sure felt good to take the time to explain why they're wrong, though.

Not the least because the person didn't realize one of her main reasons for opposing this law is something that explicitly isn't in the amendment that's being drawn. When I told her that, she looked surprised, so - fingers crossed - this might have gone through and she might listen when they repeat it's not in the amendment being discussed again?
