Oh, it's less going to be "capitalist pigs" and more "what word do I use when instead of 'what the fuck', 'that fucking dumbass', 'fuck you'" and the like. It definitely wouldn't have been used so commonly at the time.
"Bloody" is good. I'm going to get a lot of mileage out of the word "shit", probably.
I agree with your points, but though I'm writing in English, this is still France, and religion-based swear words fell out of use a fair century earlier. We don't say "damn you".
I can probably get away with one use of "hell" like you're suggesting. (Probably going to use "what the hell" instead of "what the fuck".) I'm still not too convinced about "god", even as an interjection. It's not a word I ever heard my grand-parents using outside of a religious context.
Anyway, I wouldnt' let the whole Jewish Communist rule the character's language, otherwise, the only kind of thing you'll be left with will be stuff like "capitalist pigs", and your character will just end up sounding like a bond villain. A bond villain played by Woddy

Yeah, thing is, the english language seems to use religious flavored curse words a bit more than French. Aside, the pretty old fashionned "damn you", there are the more common, "damn", "dammit", "goddamn", "goddamnit". Plus, if you really want to be realistic, French workers in the 30s will use all sorts of words from argot, and that's just not going to be fun to translate

I'm not an expert on 30s argot in the first place, and translating it isn't something I want to tackle in the 36 hours window I'm trying to conform to. I'd make a terrible job of it and it would be even less accessible than it currently is
