I like Ruby too! She doesn't seem bitter and it's obvious she's a very caring person. I am enjoying this little arc.

Wow, thank you! I've imagined her as a doting and pragmatic person; she's taken her circumstances and just run with them instead of spending her time complaining and wishing for something different.
