This is lovely. :D

I love the mention of the dance card. I've never heard of those, but I suppose if I were to attend a large dance engagement I would enjoy the structure and order of knowing who I was to dance with at what moment. It think it would relieve the pressure of deciding who to dance with next. :D

Oh man. The exchange between Lionel and Harold just about killed me. Are you planning on writing much more on this period? Because I'd love to see how Harold and Hanne's relationship develops further.

Thank you! And, yes, I hope so. I think I'm finally beginning to get a handle on them, so I do want to do some more pieces. (And Lionel was fun, because Julia, understandably, loathes her uncle and all her other paternal relatives that she knows, but I think despite everything he's actually well-meaning, he's just... well, the Graveses are fundamentally Forsytes, which is why Hanne/Harold is such a terrible idea all round.)
