Aw, lovely! I enjoyed how forward Mr. Graves was - offering his arm, giving Hanne a flower. He certainly has his mind made up. Now all that needs doing is to convince her. :)

Aw, thank you! He may have done, it's true, but offering his arm is a fairly common courtesy in the situation and the flower is to make a point to Alice. (They've a way to go yet, in other words.) :-)

Thanks! Actually, everybody they know thinks they'll be a terrible match and they're not necessarily wrong, but hopefully I will write more and we will see. :-)

It's so interesting to look into the lives of Julia's parents (since I'm moderately acquainted with her & her story)! Alice's teasing reminds me of a friend--if we were in the early 1900s, that is.
