Aww, there's nothing like cats for company, even during an apocalypse! I love your narrative style, and Abigail is such a cute character. I probably enjoyed the scene where John was startled by the cat more than I should have ^^

In my book cats are always fun for company, and never more so than during an apocalypse. ;D

Thank you for your lovely comment! I like Abigail as well. She's got a lot of spunk in her. I worry for her father, if anything were ever to happen to her. I think she's his little bit of light that keeps him grounded during such strange times.

I think Abby gets lonely from time to time, but I imagine it's probably worse on John since most of his life was spent in the non-apocalyptic world. I think he grumbles and growls but in the end he enjoys having the animals around as much as she does. ;)
