Ah, politicking! This was a good piece--I'm glad to finally see more of how the whole blackmail thing unfolded. And it's nice to see Whittaker take a stand...though I don't know if that'd be too noble of a way to describe it...

Thanks! Whittaker at this stage is just feeling frustrated with everyone else in the world, and why wouldn't he? ;-) (Heh, it's funny; this sat in my notebook for so long because it felt as if it didn't add anything to canon... but apparently it does?)

It totally does! I mean, you can pick up on the whole blackmail deal by reference, but it's also helpful to see it actually played out too.
