Ah, I liked this one! It really got across to me how Edward grows as a person as the story goes along. I mean, he'll never exactly be a smooth operator, but he does seem to learn more about how to manage things better. The conversation in the hotel room was so painful it almost was a touch comical (in a black, dismal sort of way). I was just like "yep...keep digging that grave, buddy" for most of it. But that strikes me as being very true to life.

Also, there were a lot of nice turns of phrase in this. The descriptions of the hotel room and the air raid shelter were particularly nice. ^^
