I hope so! I would really like to see you back too. I am having such a hard time. I just keep staring at the screen and getting nowhere. I've been talking to Olram lately too and hopefully she is coming back as well.

At least you've been trying to write. I've been so busy and unmotivated. Not having a computer available really hasn't made it any easier but I'll try and come back as soon as I get my laptop back.

I've also been reminded of a question I've had for a while. Out of curiosity, why do toppings get a ten piece banner but extras don't?

Yes, I will add that to the post. Feel free to use the pint and spoon retroactively.

Toppings came along way before the extras and, aside from gummies and cookie crumbs, all came in as one big batch, and at the time, 10 seemed like a reasonable goal. Of course, now we have people who have posted a few hundred of a single topping and 10 seems kind of silly. Extras, on the other hand, came in 1 or 2 at a time, over a long period of time and we never really thought about giving them particular goals until people started fixating on fotd. When Ichthus was approaching 50 fotd we thought gee, that should probably get a reward. And we extended that to all the toppings and extras (none of which had been hit at that point). Rather than go back and retroactively hand out a bunch of 10-extra banners, we just left it at that. If I was going to overhaul the whole system I would probably just have everything get a 50 banner and do away with the 10's, so it's not so much that the extras were overlooked, as that the toppings were granfathered in.

That makes sense! I always thought it was a bit confusing because some of the extras seem to be near impossible to hit 50 on. But I guess that doesn't mean we can't try.
