Wow! Very powerfully written. I can see these scenes you lay out so clearly. Very sad that their first kiss came so late in their lives that it became their last. I wonder now if Istvan ever emerges from his icey hibernation, and also if the boy is someone we know of from later one. Really nicely done :D

Thank you!! :D Istvan and Orla were always going to have a sort of tragic ending; neither of them would ever make a move until the last minute (plus for plot purposes, Istvan was always going to have to preserve himself and it was either this, or he disappeared and left Orla alone for the rest of her life - I'm not sure which is more depressing). I don't know exactly what I'm going to do with the boy, but I'll more than likely explore his journey at some point - there are more than enough prompts to do that, haha ;)!

I like the lyrical way this is written: barely any dialogue, mostly told through narrative. Can't wait to read more!
