Just sitting side by side on the deck of the boat, feet up, fishing poles out, hats over their eyes... yeah, it's adorable. Now they have to go fishing in canon.

Thank you!

I really like that this is told backwards, for reasons Miyabi already pointed out. It's an interesting look at Nathan (and Ivy, in the first one). I like how hopeful young Nathan is. I like that Ivy and Nathan are very responsible and anchored to reality about their choices, which is very true to them but not necessarily to what I know of pirates. Which is admittedly not much.

I'm in a better mood for having read this. Awesome job. <3

Well, Ivy and Nathan aren't the usual run of pirates. Both of them are really more in the old run of English privateers, who actually weren't particularly vicious or cruel. They tended to see themselves as soldiers more than thieves. The responsibility is just a Kendall thing, I think.

Thank you! I'm so glad it put you in a better mood. <3

There's something about backwards chronological order in pocky chains that I just love, and you did it so effectively here. I love the look at Nathan, and the glimpse at Ivy, too; it's lovely. Great work.

P.S. I think your word count is off.

I'm experimenting with form-- backwards chronological order is one of my favorite ones so far. It's fun to try and make it all fit together. Thank you!

also I think you may be right fiiiiixing

Love the backwards format, like everyone else has said. I also like the melancholy note that underlines everything--change is the only constant and all that, and no one knows where they're going to end up.

Yeah. But at the same time, it's not always bad to change, and it's nice to look at where you were and where you are.

Thank you!
