He adores his kids. But he is a shitty-ass husband. I guess points to him that he at least knows it?

He's more than serious. He's SRS.

Actually, Chris doesn't fight Cecily for custody. He doesn't want to uproot the kids anymore than they're already going to be, so he just asks to see his kids every other weekend or so. Like you said, decent father.

Even though he is a craptastic husband, it gives me a little bit of satisfaction that he even wants the kids... You're very good at getting a lot of information and emotion into very short spaces.
