Ahh, okay. The intro post is a sticky thread that doesn't give an indication when a new person joins our group, so it's in the past it's been a good idea to indicate in your first post what you'd like as your author name. I'll get that set up for you.

This is an interesting start! Are these skinwalkers? I enjoyed the imagery you wrote with the wolf in the beginning, it felt very realistic. And oh yeah! Everybody loves sexual tension between enemies! XD

Great job with this and welcome to RaTs!

Thanks!

Not quite skinwalkers, as they can only transform into their attached skins. I came up with the idea from watching The Secret of Roan Inish a lot as a kid. It prominently features selkies that shed their seal skins to become human and cannot become seals without their skins. Snow and his counterpart cannot become a jackal or wolf without their respective skins, and cannot become another animal even if they have another skin. It creates a different dynamic, as those skins become a tool to irritate rather than a weapon against them. You'll see more about this in future pieces.

Haha, I was just going to say this reminded me of selkies when I saw your comment above. I love selkie legends and am excited to read more of this story!
