Oh, Summer. That would suck, being asked that over and over in your life.

It really kind of does. At least her boys get it and quit asking after a while.

Thank you.

:( Summer! Madison needs to die in a fire, as does her teacher for not understanding, since she totally should! I'm glad that she takes Felipe and Zack's in the right way, even if it makes her sad too. They understand that she is who she is, even if sometimes even that is hard. Well done!

Well, if it helps, Madison does sort of kind of die in a fire in an AU? And Summer's teacher just pissed off the director of special education in NYC, soooo... yeah. Well done there. Summer's boys do get her, at least, even if no one else does, and they love her for it.

Thank you.

...is summer autistic by any chance?

i have not read much of your writing, tragically! but even so this really hit damned hard, especially here: sometimes, when you were different, you could not be yourself. excellent writing.

Yes, actually! Technically she was diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome, but that's on the spectrum. She's very high-functioning; the only real indication is that she just doesn't get things a lot of the time.

Thank you so much. I enjoy your writing so much that a compliment from you really means a lot.

Poor Summer. Felipe at least tries to understand, but Summer has had too many bad experiences to truly be herself all the time. People's ignorance wears a person down after awhile.

It really does. Felipe and Zack do quit asking after a while, to their credit.

Thank you.

It was before her diagnosis, but that particular teacher is.. not the best. And she's very much comfortable with Felipe and Zack! They quit asking after a while, too, which is good for them. And Madison is a terribly rotten sort. It's kind of a pity Summer didn't tell Lars, because he'd have kicked her ass to the curb first and then saved us all a lot of trouble and drunk bastardliness.

Thank you!
