I like that Yann is sort of warming up to Nevara by the end, I mean, he clearly misses Aislinn but at least he's looking after his new wife :) I really enjoyed it, great job!

I am very glad you enjoyed it. Yann has quite a protective streak, even more so when it comes to his children and wife, and the recent events only made him feel more fond of Neve.

They're quite blind, aren't they? I guess he's not prepared to discover he's ready to feel again and she's too proud to admit she liked him from the beginning ;) They'll come around, eventually.

Um, would you mind putting a warning for sexual assault at the top of this, please? I know it's very triggering for me and a couple other people in the community. Thank you.

Did it. Really sorry, I was posting in a hurry and thought I had forgotten something, but couldn't figure exactly what. Thank you for pointing it out!

I promise things are getting better for them soon. They just need a bit of time to become accustomed to each other.

Thank you for reading!

Oh wow. This is the frst of your pieces that I read and I love it! I wasn't lost at all: you explained the world and the circumstances so well! I really like the way you've descibed Yann and their relationship. Nevera's reaction to both the attack and the murder was extremely realistic too! Well done, I love these characters!

Wow thank you very much! I'm glad you liked it and that it's understandable even as a standalone piece. I'm never too sure where the balance between "just enough background" and an infodump is. :)
