Always love a bit of universe-skipping: Azarel's not doing so bad though, he's already found someone who seems willing/nice enough to let him hang around him. I like how Azarel seems only slightly ruffled by the transportation through universes!

I second that Anthony's going to get more than he bargained for with Azarel. Here's my personal favourite line:

..."drinking in the cool air and faint early autumn drizzle that felt so lovely after a day in a hot kitchen."

Azarel seems remarkably blase about having turned up somewhere he's not supposed to be. I look forward to more of him, and hope Anthony doesn't manage to get himself killed. He's definitely in for an interesting ride.
