“You made me breakfast?” Andy asked, rubbing at his eyes as he yawned.
“Well... yeah.” Oz glanced away as he set the tray down, and awkwardly rubbed the back of his neck. “You’ve got all those interviews today and stuff, so...”
“I didn’t even know you could cook.” Pulling the tray into his lap, Andy looked over the food with a critical eye before looking to Oz’s spotless (borrowed) apron. “...You went to IHOP and just plated it, didn’t you?”
“Shut up and eat.”
“I love you too.”

Title: Girl for Hire

PhaseTimeline: September 2008 - Andy is 24, Sarah is 19.

Andy flipped through the portfolio, glancing up to look at the girl that sat across from him every once in a while. She was much shorter than him, which wasn’t hard to accomplish, and had as many piercings as he had tattoos, which was odd for an artist. Not unheard of, but odd. Maybe they were covered by clothing. So far, everything about her looked like what he was looking for in a new employee... except the fact that she had been drawing on her once white boots the whole time he had been looking over her work.
Yes, the job involved art and he pretty much sketched and doodled whenever he wasn’t busy with anything else, but it involved some professionalism as well. Andy frowned as she stuck her tongue out the corner of her mouth, concentrating especially hard on one part of her doodle. No, maybe not the right choice after all. And this was his last interview of the day, too...
“So... Sarah. Your drawings and interpretations of the seven deadly sins are very good.” The giant finally spoke, breaking the somewhat comfortable silence. “And I definitely like your style. It’s a mix of Japanese prints and sort of whimsical fairy tale style, isn’t it?”
Sarah shrugged one shoulder, not looking away from her boot and the marker she held in one hand. “Yeah, sort of. I don’t really have one certain inspirations or anything. I just work with whatever is stuck in my head at the time, and it usually comes out like that.” As she finished talking, she capped the Sharpie and stretched her leg out, turning to show Andy the drawing she had been working on. “What do you think? Close enough?”
Andy felt his annoyance rise, and opened his mouth to tell her that he’d call her if an opening appeared as he glanced towards her shoe. “Right, well... Is that my sister?” He instead asked, outright gawking at the extremely lifelike portrait of Adrianna that now took up space on the calf of the knee high canvas style boots.
“Is that who she was?” Sarah asked, twisting around awkwardly to look at the drawing without taking it out of Andy’s sight. “I just saw her for a second when I was walking in, but she’s got a unique look about her, you know? Very early nineteen hundreds movie star.”
The tattoo artist leaned back in his chair, now looking at Sarah with a more much appraising eye. Maybe not so annoying. “So, when can you start?”

Title: Rainfall
Summary: Sarah can’t sleep.
Story:
PhaseTimeline: May 2013 - Adrianna and Sarah are 24.
Challenge: Flavor of the Day (noctivigant), Strawberry Banana #3 (hallucination), Strawberry #19 (umbrella)
Word Count: 479
Rating: G
This was getting to be a habit, and Sarah wasn’t sure she liked it. She wasn’t sure if insomnia was the actual term for what was going on with her, but it was frequent bouts of not being able to sleep. Usually, they came after thoughts of Adrianna, which led to thinking about... everything else. Angie and Adrianna and their situation and her feelings and - it just led to too many thoughts, and not many of them good, which led to not being able to sleep.
So, lately, when three AM or so hit, she’d go out and walk. Partly because walking actually helped some thoughts make sense, and also because walking wore her out enough to at least doze before she had to get up for work. Usually. Trying to hold her umbrella aloft as she stumbled back towards her apartment building, Sarah blinked the rain from her eyes as she turned the corner. As she raised a hand to wipe the drops from her face, she tried to convince herself that it was rain and not tears, because she had gone this long without crying about it. To start now would just be pathetic.
The blonde gave a sound that was something between a laugh and a sob as she gave up, letting the umbrella drop to the sidewalk. Whatever. If she was already out at 3 AM, stumbling around because of how tired she was, she might as well be damp. By the time she reached the steps of her apartment building, Sarah was soaked to the bone and shivering so hard that her teeth chattered. She slicked her hair back with one hand, fumbling in her pocket for her keys with the other, and somehow managed to get the door open and closed behind without collapsing from exhaustion and cold right there on the spot.
As she walked up the stairwell to her apartment on the first floor, her steps slowed as she saw someone huddled in front of her door, as wet and shivery as she was. At first, Sarah could have sworn she was seeing things, a sudden bout of insanity brought on by the days with very little sleep and sudden shock to her system that the rain had given her. But no, the familiar head of dark hair and bright blue eyes were just as familiar when soaking wet, and there was no denying the large puddle of water that saturated the carpet around her. “...Adri?”
Adrianna looked up, her arms wrapped so tightly around her knees that Sarah would be surprised if her legs weren’t itching with needles and pins. “I couldn’t sleep.” She answered, though chattering teeth. “And then when I got here, I couldn’t find my keys.”
For the first time in over a month, Sarah felt a rush of what could only be described as hope.

“Oz, why are you so nice to me?”
The question took Oz by surprise, and he tore his gaze away from soccer game on TV to meet Adrianna’s nervous gaze. “What?” He asked, before the inquiry really sank in. “Oh. Well. You’re Andy’s little sis. And you’re nice and... you remind me of my little sister, in a way.”
“I didn’t know you had a sister.”
Oz looked from her, grimacing. “I don’t.” He responded after a tense moment. “Not anymore.”
Adrianna nearly asked what he meant before it sunk in. Face coloring, she went back to her book, embarrassed.
