It was the first thing either of them had said in a few minutes, and Andy nearly jumped at the sound of Oz’s voice. The hum of the tattoo machine abruptly cut off as he took his foot off the pedal and moved the needle away from the half-finished tattoo across Oz’s ribs. “It is really not a good idea to startle the person who is permanently scarring your skin.” He answered, sending Oz a scolding glance.
Oz only grinned in response. “That a yes?”
“No, it isn’t.” Frowning as he started working on the tattoo again, Andy resisted the urge to look at that damned grin. That grin would be the downfall of him, he knew it. “What makes you think I would want to go out with you, anyway?”
“I’m smart. I’ve got a sense of humor. I’m great in the sack. And you’ve been trying not to stare ever since I took off my shirt.”
Ignoring the rush of warmth he felt in his cheeks and the back of his neck, Andy only shrugged as he moved to suck more ink into the tattoo machine. “You’re also a cocky, smug, hardheaded bastard. I can’t really say that’s my type.”
“So, I’ll pick you up at eight?”
“...Fine.”
