He watches her, not surprised that she’s fallen unconscious again. She’s more fragile than he expected, yet…somehow hardier too. He feels something new about her and he wonders if it’s guilt. He only has to hurt her because she’s here and his real target isn’t.
Now she shifts without opening her eyes, probably trying to get more comfortable, although he doubts that’s possible. He’s hurt her and enjoyed it. “Please,” she murmurs in her sleep, face screwing up.
He feels he should wake her, but enjoys this. Nightmares about him. He can only hope his real target has them too.
