Today's word looked good. This was rather hastily written, but here goes... Sly, you get more Kairn/Shasa/Sethan after all.

Eyes Wide Open “Kairn?” The silken tone he once adored snaked its way past his ears with all the kindness and comfort of a dull rasp. He squared his shoulders against the doors of the wardrobe in what he hoped resembled a casual stance and forced his fists to unwind.
“Have you seen your sister?” Sethan asked, as he came into view.
He forced out a simple “No,” as he tried in vain to avoid the man’s gaze.
Bright blue eyes caught and held him, boring into his own. There was a twitch at the corner of Sethan’s mouth as he studied him. “You would not be thinking to hide her from me, now would you, my friend?” Kairn’s stomach clenched as those eyes wandered the room, settling briefly on the wardrobe.
Kairn lowered his eyes and swallowed hard. “Of course not.“ He shifted his weight uncomfortably against the smooth wood, careful to avoid the knobs. “Why Shasa?” he asked, as if understanding his motives would change anything.
Sethan’s lips curled again. “Convenience,” he said. His features shifted to a look of concern. Whether it was genuine or false, Kairn could not be certain. “I assure you she will come to no harm. It's only the boy anyone desires.”
“You would toy with the gods like you do men,” Kairn said quietly. “No good can come of this.”
A hand settled on his shoulder and Sethan gave way to a full grin. There was a dangerous and all too familiar gleam to his eyes. “Neither of us need worry as long as I am making the rules,” he said. “Now do let me know if you should see her.”
Kairn bowed his head. He could find little reason to think there would not be call to dispose of Shasa along with the child, and even less to believe Sethan would care in the least when it was done. He fixed his eyes on his feet and fought the urge to throw off his hand. “I will."
“I am fortunate to count on you.” Kairn kept his eyes cast downward as Sethan slipped from the room. He barely breathed as he heard his steps trail away. After long moments of silence, he turned and opened the wardrobe and took hold of the slender hand that reached from inside.
