Green. Nothing but green. A hundred different shades, but all of them green. Leaves above his head and grass beneath the hands and knees he dragged along the ground. And in between still more green, hunger and exhaustion driving it all into one great blur. With every move, he searched and hoped for some point of distinction among the wood, a spot of something-
Orange? Clearly he’d begun to take leave of his senses altogether. But there it was again, a fleeting burst of orange, darting through the brush. Rune drew a deep breath and set to follow the thing.
