“One last thing, guys-the family thing coming up? We may have a small problem,” Isabella started.

Torey gave her a curious look. “Don’t tell me,” he said.

“Yep,” she said. “Mina’s coming. Vito told me this morning.”

“Who gives a fuck?” grunted David.

“Letta’s gonna be there, dumbfuck,” Johnny responded.

“And Nic and Mina are roughly ten times worse than you and Johnny,” Torey added. To Isabella, he asked, “Mina knows Nic’s going to be there?”

“Vito said she does-”

“And I give a fuck if those dumb bitches rip each other to shreds?” interrupted David.

“Pop will,” Torey pointed out. “How badly do you want him pissed off?”

David rolled his eyes, and Johnny added, “So we have ta keep ‘em apart. There’re how many’a us, two of ‘em, should be possible.”

“Should be are the operative words,” muttered Isabella. “Did you hear about the latest thing? Mina hacked into Nic’s bank account, completely fucked it up. Took her two weeks to get it all sorted out.”

“For fuck’s sake, why haven’t we just let them kill each other yet?” asked Leo suddenly.

“Welcome to the conversation, Leo. I thought you’d passed out,” Isabella said.

“I don’t have that kind of luck.”

“Are we fucking done here? I have actual shit to do,” David snapped.

“We’re fuckin’ done when I say we’re fuckin’ done,” Johnny said. “Torey, Sable, what d’ya think? Focus on keepin’ Mina busy?”

Torey nodded. “Get Gino and Vito to keep an eye on her.”

“Better than trying to control things from Nic’s side, that’s for sure,” Isabella agreed.

“Great, now that that’s fucking settled and the world’s going to keep on spinning, can we get back to doing shit that matters?” David stood.

“Fine, fucker, get the fuck out,” muttered Johnny.

David growled something as he left, shouting for Angela, and Leo asked, “Are Tweedledee and Tweedledum going to be able to handle this? I don’t really care, except for the fact that the paperwork after they kill each other will be a bitch.”

“Your compassion is overwhelming, Leo,” Isabella said, rolling her eyes.

“Should be okay,” Torey replied. “They both know how serious it is.”

“Fine,” Leo said, and he left next. Isabella stood then.

“I’ll talk to Vito and Gino,” she said, and Torey and Johnny nodded. “This is just a little ridiculous, isn’t it?” she asked rhetorically.

“Just a little,” Torey answered anyway. “It’s family. What can you do?”

“Yeah, right,” Isabella said, and left the room. Johnny followed, and Torey sat in the conference room for a second before standing up.

“Family,” muttered Torey, and he left the room, shutting the door behind him.
