A fast paced techno beat from my stereo led my way as I analyzed the mechanics of my robot's tail. The movements had gotten kind of jerky lately and being a perfectionist, I wanted to fix that right away.
The mechanical whirling of my computers and robots blended in with the the song were like sweet music to my ears. I took a few twirls with my high speed screw driver and then after putting my goggles down so they were hanging around my neck, typed a formula into my robot's program. "Confirm change." I commanded aloud to my computer. A few moments passed.
"Change confirmed, AJ." Jade returned to me.
"Excellent." I looked down. "How's it feel?"
My favorite robot let out a bit of steam from his tail before letting it move smoothly up and down as if it were a wave. As it kept moving, I came up to examine it more with my eyes. Just a bit more and he would be good as new.
Reaching for the appendage, I stated, "Let's try to fix-- ?!"
The tail's barbed scorpion like end connected with my finger quick like, sending a sudden stinging electric current through my body.
Damn - fuck - shit -ow!
"Oi, why'd you do that you little fucker?!" I said, shaking off the pain and meeting my robot's gold eyes head on.
He gave a high pitched digital sound that I deciphered as him saying "The repairs are fine, AJ."
"No they're not, SenTi and if you do that again, I'll shut you down and you won't have no tail. How about that?"
SenTi made a low beeping sound "Affirmed."
I shook my head and sucked on my new injury; the slight blood tangy and metallic in my mouth.
Stupid robot...
I finished the repairs and after SenTi tested it and I was satisfied, he asked, "Can I go now?" I waved him away.
"Yeah, get away from me, you brat."
SenTi let out a puff of steam in irritation before leaping down and scampering away.
I looked around for a bandage looking up at my computer, seeing her beautiful digital face smirking.
"What?"
"He's more and more like you every day, you know."
I grinned and rolled my eyes at my computer's deep seductive voice.
"Shut up, Jade. Stop telling me shit I already know."
She just smirked more.
